Grant Funded- FREE Training Available To Employers

In an effort to support employers throughout the Cape and Islands, Plymouth and Southeastern Massachusetts regions, The Center for Corporate and Professional Education at Cape Cod Community College has been awarded a workforce training fund grant to offer workplace training programs, at no cost, to help area organizations thrive, individual staff members reach their full potential and to strengthen the region’s economy and workforce.

“Our Business and Professional Excellence Training Program was developed to incorporate the specific needs of our region’s employers, enhance employee skill sets, and stimulate business growth”, said Tammi Jacobsen, Director of Workforce Development and Training at Cape Cod Community College. To meet those needs, the Business and Professional Excellence Training programs cover  three core topics: Communication, Team Dynamics and Productivity. Training programs will be offered multiple times in different regions for a limited time.

For eligible employers, the cost is covered by the Massachusetts Workforce Training Fund Grant. As a grant-funded program, with a proven track record of success, reserved seats in this program are highly sought after. Employers are encouraged to submit Employer Eligibility Forms as soon as possible to hold training slots for their employees. Required Employer Eligibility Forms and Guidelines along with the program details may be found at: www.capecod.edu/softskills.

In an ever changing and fast paced business world, training and development is an indispensable function. Training allows employees to acquire new skills, sharpen existing ones, perform better, increase productivity and be better leaders. Barry Ahern, Director of Operations and Human Resources, Verc Enterprises shared his thoughts on workplace education, “Training is necessary and it is very important.  Employers must continually invest the time and money in your employees and managers by providing them personal and professional growth, which also helps you remain competitive as well as up to date on the every changes business and personnel environment. By partnering with The Center for Corporate and Professional Education we are allowed to meet our goals and fulfill our employee’s needs.”

Training programs will be offered in Falmouth, Hyannis, Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, Orleans, Plymouth, and Wareham. For schedule details and course descriptions, visit: www.capecod.edu/softskills.

This project is funded by a Workforce Training Fund grant through the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development.
