CCCC Financial Aid Staff Offer Special Hours and Personal Help to Complete the FAFSA Form

The State of Massachusetts’ priority deadline for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid – the “FAFSA” form is May 1.  It’s an important deadline to meet for those seeking financial aid for the coming new academic year that begins this September, and it is not too late to apply!

Students using computers in the Financial Aid officeTo help individuals complete this form, the Financial Aid staff at Cape Cod Community College (CCCC) are offering personal assistance in their offices during regular business hours throughout the week, and until 7:00pm each Wednesday.

“Many students might quality for thousands of dollars in federal and state aid to attend college, so it is very important to apply. We know some people feel challenged by the form, so we’re ready to personally coach you through the application, right here in our office, where we have computer stations that the public may use,” stated Sherry Andersen, Director of Financial Aid at CCCC

The FAFSA form is filled out completely online, and has been simplified from years past. It must be completed every year that financial aid is sought, and is required for both public (Federal and State) and private scholarship awards, so it is crucial for students, parents/guardians to complete, and the May 1 state deadline is approaching rapidly.

Individuals who would like to come into to the College’s Financial Aid Office and complete their FAFSA form, may simply walk in and ask for help. Copies of your most current federal tax return will be needed, so please bring as much financial information with you as possible. It will be kept strictly confidential, but must be available to complete the form.

The CCCC Financial Aid Office is open every Wednesday until 7:00pm, and from 8:30am–4:30pm throughout the rest of the work week. The office is located on the ground floor of the Nickerson Administration Building – up the walk from the flagpoles as you enter campus, and through the side entrance door that leads into the Admissions Lobby.
