Cape Cod Interfaith Multicultural Service, Tuesday, September 12

Inspirational words and music from many backgrounds will be showcased at the annual Cape Cod Interfaith Multicultural Service Tuesday, September 12. The lively interfaith service will be 7:00–8:30pm, at The Cape Cod Synagogue, 145 Winter Street, Hyannis, MA.

The Tuesday night Interfaith Celebration will include singers, poets and musicians representing a variety of spiritual traditions. The theme of this year’s celebration is “Celebrating Spiritual Diversity.” The uplifting, inspirational service will celebrate the spiritual and artistic diversity of Cape Cod.

The service will include music and prayers from a variety of religious traditions including Bahá’í, Buddhist, Christian, Hindu, Jewish, Muslim, and Unitarian-Universalist.

A group of interfaith clergy have been presenting ecumenical gatherings for many years and stresses that people from any spiritual tradition are welcome and should feel comfortable at its events.

“We honor, respect and celebrate all religious traditions,” said James Kershner, a Buddhist who helped organize this year’s event. “Everyone is welcome.”

The service is part of the Cape Cod Arts and Culture Expo that is going on all week at Cape Cod Community College, that like is predecessor, the Multicultural Festival of Cape Cod, will end with a day-long celebration at the College on Saturday, September 16, starting at 10:00am and closing at 4:00pm.
