Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation announces co-chairs of the Nursing and Allied Health Program fundraising campaign

Bill Bogdanovich, president and CEO of Broad Reach Healthcare and Liberty Commons in Chatham, and Eric Weber, MD, an internist in Hyannis with a specialty in geriatrics, have agreed to lead the effort to raise funds for the expansion of Cape Cod Community College’s nursing and allied health programs.

Bill Bogdanovich and Dr. Eric WeberWe are delighted to have Bill and Eric leading this capital campaign, as we enhance our state-of-the-art teaching environment for our healthcare students.  Their commitment to give and to lead allows Cape Cod to meet its future healthcare needs,” stated John Cox, President of Cape Cod Community College.

The Cape Cod Community College Educational Foundation is leading the effort to raise $3.7 million for the expansion of the nursing clinic at the College. To date, just over $2 million has been raised, including a $1 million leadership gift from Cape Cod Healthcare.

With Bill Bogdanovich’s leadership, Broad Reach Healthcare has developed into a highly-regarded community of care on Cape Cod. It includes Liberty Commons Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, Broad Reach Outpatient Rehabilitation Clinic, the Victorian Assisted Living Residence and Broad Reach Hospice and Palliative Care. U.S. News & World Report ranks it among the best nursing homes in Massachusetts. In addition, Broad Reach’s employees have voted it to the Boston Globe’s “Top Places to Work” in Massachusetts, for nine consecutive years.

“I am honored to serve as a co-chair of this important fundraising effort to support the expansion of the College’s outstanding nursing and allied health education programs,” says Bogdanovich. “Nurses and health care professionals are critically-needed in our hospitals and in post-acute settings such as nursing homes and assisted living facilities.”

Dr. Eric Weber is an internist in Hyannis and one of the most tenured members of the Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC) physician community, having been affiliated with Cape Cod Hospital since 1996. He received his medical degree from Temple University School of Medicine. Dr. Weber has a clinical specialty in geriatrics, and has been in practice here for more than 20 years. In addition to his primary care practice, he also serves as Medical Director for Broad Reach, as well as Harbor Point Assisted Living in Centerville.

“Cape Codders benefit every day from the high quality care offered by Cape Cod Healthcare (CCHC). I am proud to be part of the CCHC network, and I know the partnership with Cape Cod Community College will be of immense benefit to our work,” says Dr. Weber. “Nurses are crucial members of the health care team, and I am eager to assist with raising funds to make the CCCC expansion possible.”
