College’s Newest Board Member is Cape Cod 5’s Chief Human Resources Officer Laura Newstead

Cape Cod Community College is pleased to welcome the newest member of its Board of Trustees, Laura Newstead, Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer for the Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank. As a new Board member, Ms. Newstead brings 20 years of human resources experience, primarily in the financial services sector, including, talent management, benefits, and employee relations.  She joined the Bank in 2016, after relocating from Michigan, and has become active with Cape Cod Young Professionals, (CCYP) as a mentor.

Laura NewsteadProfessionally, her expertise is shared on the state and national level through appointments to the Massachusetts Bankers Association’s Women in Banking Advisory Board, and recent appointment to the American Bankers Association’s Professional Development Advisory Board.

The College’s newest trustee holds a Master of Science Administration in Human Resources from Central Michigan University. She also received a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and English from Western Michigan University and is ABD status at Indiana Wesleyan University where she is pursuing a PhD in Organizational Leadership. Additionally, Laura holds several Human Resources professional designations including: Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) Designation and SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SCP) Designation.

Laura resides in East Sandwich with her family.
