This 4-week class will teach the fundamentals of Hospice which treats individuals facing a terminal diagnosis. Students will learn how an Interdisciplinary Team works together to provide symptom management, assist with various emotions and provide spiritual support. The class is designed for the “layperson” and will strive to give a very clear understanding of “end of life” care, and to remove the stigma of “death” as a topic that is not discussed, but rather see it as a part of life. Should the need for Hospice ever arise, particpants of this class will be well prepared to make an educated decision on what would be best for them.
