When it comes to creating multi-page documents such as books, brochures and catalogs, there is no better tool for the job than Adobe InDesign.

In this course beginners will learn how to use tools like stylesheets, master pages, and all the basics they will need to get started on these projects. Participants will also begin to learn some graphic design fundamentals such as typography and layout and gain valuable insight into how InDesign fits into a designer’s workflow.

The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course incorporates the latest science and teaches students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illnesses, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies, for victims 12 years and older. Managers and employees in today’s workplace require in depth understanding of individual and team communication in order to perform at their best. This interactive course begins with building a foundation of cornerstone communication skills. Participants will complete a DiSC behavioral assessment profile to outline their own communication style. Unrestricted Construction Supervisor Exam Prep (WPG078-65)

This course is for those who wish to be licensed for construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, removal, or demolition involving any activity regulated by the code. This license includes all of the Specialty Licenses. With this Unrestricted CSL, building permits can be applied for and obtained through the Building Departments in Massachusetts towns.

This course is 6 weeks of intense training and testing to equip students to take and pass the 75 question exam. Course will include AAB regulations, OSHA (text book version is recommended), 2015 IECC energy code, the 2015 IRC and IBC Code editions with their corresponding Mass amendments. Students must have the 2015 IBC Code with the matching Mass Amendments for the first day of class. A comprehensive review and examination of the Mass State Building Code will be provided to prepare construction professionals for the state license exam. Candidates must have proof of at least three plus years of construction experience required for eligibility to take state exam.

The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© is a 5-day intensive training academy focusing on providing individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into or sustain long-term recovery from an addiction to alcohol or other drugs. 

CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© participants will:

  • Describe Recovery Coach role and functions
  • List the components, core values and guiding principles of recovery
  • Build skills to enhance relationships
  • Explore many dimensions of recovery and recovery coaching
  • Discover attitudes about self-disclosure and sharing your story
  • Understand the stages of recovery
  • Describe the stages of change and their applications
  • Increase their awareness of culture, power and privilege
  • Address ethical and boundaries issues
  • Experience recovery wellness planning
  • Practice newly acquired skills

By designing the academy as more of a retreat or learning community, each participant comes away with not only the necessary skills, but are fully empowered and motivated.

The lessons taught in the CCAR Recovery Coach Academy© expand way beyond the role of recovery coach, as many graduates leave feeling a greater sense of self, solidifying their position as allies in the ever changing recovery community.
