Information for Students with Court Records
Nursing students who have been convicted by a court of law may be affected in two ways:
- Prior to clinical placement, records of students may be subject to review pursuant to the Criminal Record Information Act (C.O.R.I.), Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 28A. Section 1, et seq, and regulations promulgated pursuant to such statutes. Depending on the nature of the convictions, the student may be denied clinical placement, and therefore be unable to complete the nursing program. Admission to the nursing program does not insure clinical placement.
