First Time College Student

It's your first time taking college classes? No worries! We've got your back.

Here's a step-by-step guide to take you from here all the way to being an enrolled student!

1 Apply to 4Cs

The first step is to fill out our free Application. Complete this and you'll be automatically accepted to 4Cs.

High School Seniors: If you are applying for the Fall semester but are still enrolled in your high school classes, please complete the application as though you have already graduated. Please list your anticipated graduation date.

2 Apply for the Financial Aid

Applying for Financial Aid through the FAFSA is a really important part of starting your college career. Every year billions of dollars of unused federal financial aid are left unspent. Apply even if you don't think you'd be eligible! It's quick and we're here to help you if you need support.

3 Request Your Official High School Transcripts

Students who have graduated from high school within the past ten (10) years are required to submit their official high school transcript. Please contact your high school guidance office and request to have your transcript sent directly to Cape Cod Community College.

4 Register for a Placement Test

Students with a high school GPA of 2.7 or higher, do not need to take the Readiness Assessment. Students with a high school GPA below a 2.7, or students enrolled in a STEM program are required to take a placement Readiness Assessment in mathematics.

You will need your 4Cs student ID number to sign-up. Your 4Cs student ID number is located on your Welcome Packet which will be received upon acceptance to the college.

5 Complete a Ready to Register Workshop and Meet Your Academic Advisor

Your Academic Advisor is going to be your go-to person to help navigate the "getting started" process. The first thing you'll need to do is sign up for a Ready to Register Workshop, where you'll meet with an academic advisor and build a course schedule that works for you.
