If you are looking to earn extra income in the busy Cape Cod hospitality industry, then this is the course for you! Bartenders are being hired to work in local restaurants, bars, clubs, hotels and fine dining establishments. Employment of bartenders is projected to grow 12 percent from 2014 to 2022. In this course you will learn the fundamental principles of Mixology, bar organization and equipment. Participants learn to properly prepare and serve mixed drinks, cocktails and wines. Participants will learn essential techniques for making delicious popular shaken, stirred, and frozen drinks and will also learn basics of wine, beer, garnishes, and glassware use. This workshop also will examine the legal ramifications of recently adopted serving laws and the ServSafe Alcohol Certification exam will be given in class. Effective Business Writing Techniques (WGB077-66)

As a major form of communication, writing must be clear, concise and attention getting. While assuming a basic knowledge of grammar usage (on which a minimal amount of time will be spent), this course will concentrate on writing and the improvement of writing skills. This course consists of 11 hours of online pre-study for the licensed dental hygienist. The course covers MA Rules and Regulations 234 CMR 3.09-3.14, and its requirements in the administration of local dental anesthetics. This course contains tests and exercises that must be completed prior to attending the onsite lecture and clinical lab that follow this course. Local Anesthesia Certificate Clinical Lab (WHD002L-65)

This is the clinical lab portion of the Local Anesthesia Certificate course. The online portion of this course (WHD002-65) must be completed prior to the lab. This course is for the licensed dental hygienist and consists of a didactic and a clinical component of 12 hours each. This course covers MA Rules and Regulations 234 CMR 3.09-3.14, and its requirements in the administration of local dental anesthetics. Attendance is required at all sessions. Prerequisite: WHD002-65. Students can only register for this certificate clinic lab by contacting the instructor.

Personal Trainer Fitness Certification

As more organizations develop employee wellness programs and fit-conscious baby boomers seek professionals to help with their workouts, the demand for personal trainers is increasing. Our 62-hour personal trainer certification program includes 16 hours of lecture, 16 hours of practical training and a 30-hour internship. High school diploma or GED is required. Students must obtain Adult CPR & AED certification in order to receive certification. Attendance is mandatory. Students must attend all sessions in order to qualify to take the national exam. The national exam is held on the 9th week of the course.

Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers (WHN035-66)

The Basic Life Support course is designed specifically for participants who provide health care to patients both in the hospital and in an outpatient setting, including doctors, therapists, CNA’s, medical assistants, EMT’s, paramedics, and rescuers. This Project Management course will dive into the roles and responsibilities of the project manager, and examine project management in theory as well as in practice. For those who already coordinate projects, or who have taken "Introduction to PM", we offer this course to further improve their project management skills. We will discuss topics such as Progress Tracking; Change Management; Risk Assessments and Troubled Projects. We also compare and contrast "Traditional" and "Agile" project management methods, as well as when is it a good idea to use which. Finally, we discuss PMP Certification and its requirements.

NEW! Unrestricted Construction Supervisor's Exam Prep (WPG078-66)

Tuesdays 9/2–10/14 (no class 9/30), 6:00–9:00pm
Fee: $329

This license is for those who wish to be licensed for construction, reconstruction, alteration, repair, removal, or demolition involving any activity regulated by the code. This license includes all of the Specialty License. With this Unrestricted CSL, building permits can be applied for and obtained through the Building Departments in Massachusetts towns. This course is 6 weeks of intense training and testing to equip students to take and pass the 75 question exam. Course will include AAB regulations, OSHA, IECC energy code 2012, IRC and IBC 2009 Codes with Mass amendment. Students must have the AAB and OSHA regulations the first day. A comprehensive review and examination of the MA State Building Code will be provided to prepare construction professionals for the state license exam. Candidates must have proof of at least three plus years of construction experience required for eligibility to take state exam. MA State Building Code Books required.

OSHA 8-Hour Refresher (WET010-66)

Friday 12/12,  8:00am–4:00pm

This 8-hour course covers the 29CFR1910.120 regulation, work-site safety, hazard communication, emergency action plans & contingency plans, fire protection & prevention, back safety and container handling, confined spaces, air monitoring, decontamination, personal protective equipment, and respiratory protection.

Introduction to Wordpress (WIT099-66)

Mondays 9/15–10/6, 6:00-9:00pm
Fee: $149

Create your own website without using any programming languages with Wordpress, the most popular content management system in use today. There is an ease of use to Wordpress and at the end of this course students will be well on their way to creating a well-designed website or blog. This course will provide the basic skills needed to generate professional results. The basics include installation, setting pages, plugins, widgets and posts. Time will be spent reviewing themes and installation. A review of image management and use for SEO is also included.

Intermediate Wordpress (WIT095-66)

Mondays 10/20–11/10, 6:00–9:00pm
Fee: $149

This course will use premium or advanced themes to take the student to the next level. Custom CSS, Child Themes and Keywords for SEO will be discussed along with a touch of Google Analytics. CSS will be reviewed to provide a basic understanding of how themes can be changed. A deeper review of plugins including Social Media, SEO and backups will end with an upload of sitemaps to Google. Students will have an in depth knowledge of Wordpress upon completion of this course.

Wordpress Clinic (offered monthly)
