National Science Foundation Logo2004 National Science Foundation Grant to Build Workforce Supporting Renewable Energy Technologies

 
Project Goals:
   
  • To develop a renewable energy program modeled after the successful CCCC Environmental Technology program that will provide a variety of educational options for students in southeastern Massachusetts.
   
   
  • To develop Tech Prep RE course articulation agreements with the technical and traditional high schools to assure a seamless transition to CCCC and with nearby four year institutions that would lead to a higher degree option in Facilities Management, Electrical or Environmental Engineering, Environmental Studies, Natural Resource Protection and Sustainability.
   
   
  • To provide RE education and training for the building industry and trades-people that will prepare them to market, install and service this technology for potential customers in southeastern Massachusetts.
   
   
  • To develop energy-related contract training services for business and industry employees.
   
   
  • To provide education for the general public about the energy savings, the cost and the installation of RE technologies.
