2010 Nontraditional Career Day, Tuesday June 8th. Seventeen middle schools from the Cape and Islands region participated with about 180 middle school students and about 35 accompanying adults. Twelve high school students and three counselors from two of the region’s high schools, Cape Cod Regional Technical School and Plymouth South High School, also participated.
The Nontraditional Career Day at Cape Cod Community College is designed for students in the 7th and 8th grades, and accompanying educators and parents. The objectives of this free event are encouraging gratifying career choices, understanding and overcoming gender stereotyping and other limiting expectations, and promoting proficiency and competent skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
In 2010 the program included a "Team Building" exercise, a "Choosing a Career" workshop, as well as career exploration classes on occupations or subjects that are considered nontraditional by gender and STEM related.
Spring 2009
June 10, 2009 "Nontraditional Career Day" for 7th and 8th grade students. Fourteen middle schools participated in this event aimed at encouraging gratifying career choices, understanding and overcoming gender stereotyping, and promoting proficiency and competent skills in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). The program included presentations of a video and a panel, and attending career exploration classes.

Spring 2008
June 3, 2008 "Nontraditional Career Day" for 7th and 8th grade students. Twelve area middle schools participated in this event to continue to promote gender equitable opportunities. The program included a workshop with artists from the Harwich Junior Theatre, a panel presentation, and career exploration classes.
Winter 2008
Contemporary Art / Contemporaty Issues Lecture Series: "Breaking the Gender Barrier: Women Artists." A Lecture Series given by Professor Marie Canaves on March 26, 2008 at Cape Cod Community College.
"Beyond Traditions: Exploring Paths Less Traveled." A Professional Development Workshop for guidance counselors and educators.
