This collection consists of 18 Barnstable Savings Bank passbooks illustrated by Gustavus A. Hinckley, a miner, President of the defunct Barnstable Savings Bank, and local historian for the town of Barnstable, MA. These passbooks contain annotated Pencil sketches of many of Barnstable’s ancient north side houses circa 1885. A transcription by Eben Lennart Johnson of the Gustavus Adolphus Hinckley Sketchbooks compiled in 1983. Also "Early Barnstable Houses", a cassette tape by Frederick Matthews (1977) with explanations of the Hinckley work and a verbatim transcription by Eben Lennart Johnson.
