Reminder......From time to time we will be posting updated information for DCE Adjuncts on the College website via the Human Resources link on the home page. Here we will provide periodic updates regarding the timing of electronic (email) submission of Teaching Availability Forms, Tentative Assignments and Teaching Contracts. We will also use College email to provide updates as appropriate but felt by posting this information to our website it would always be available to you. To find the HR link, click on the Administration button located at the upper right-hand corner of the College webpage (www.capecod.edu).  From there navigate to Human Resources and click on DCE Adjunct Faculty Information.

It became obvious to us that with the array of computers, operating systems and email platforms out there...it was difficult to develop a DCE system that would work equally well for everyone. We continue to fine tune our procedures and with the great help and assistance of our IT Department will be rolling out a new and improved methodology in the not too distant future, so please bear with us as we transition to a more stable and user friendly system. In the meantime, we will move away from the Adobe file format to a web-based system that should work well for all users.

Just as a reminder...all DCE faculty have CCCC email accounts. You can access your email here at the College or from home. Accessing your College email from home is a fairly simple process...note the following instructions:

ACCESSING COLLEGE EMAIL FROM HOME...OR OTHER COMPUTERS:

(from the Information Technology Faculty Handbook)

It is easy to access your email from home, or any other off-campus location. First, access the internet by launching any web browser software, such as Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer. In the URL address line, type the following URL, noting that it does not begin with www. This is the complete address: http://mail.capecod.edu

Once you have entered the URL and hit the enter key, a Microsoft Enter Network Password Box opens asking for your user name and password. In the user name text box type cccc\your user name(cccc\jsmith), which is the same as the first part of your email address before the "@" symbol. All letters are lower case. The user name is your first initial and the first seven characters of your last name. Next, type your College password. If you do not know your password, contact the Help Desk at extension 4004 for assistance.

Next, press the enter key or click the OK button. This will bring up your College email. You will be able to read, reply, delete, send new messages, and have access to your contact list.

Be sure to LOG OFF when you have completed accessing your College email from home.

If you aren't already accessing your College email from home, I would suggest giving it a try so that you can become comfortable with it. DCE communications and notices will no longer be sent via US Mail...everything will be transmitted via your College email address and posted on the HR website.

I routinely use my home computer to access College email and it works very well. I have bookmarked the address to simplify access and save time.

If you should experience any difficulty with this, please contact the Help Desk at ext. 4004 and they can walk you through the process.
