Overview of Coaches & Mentors Career Services

Our Career Specialist assists students in formulating career plans by providing a variety of support services and resources necessary to develop a targeted, focused career path. The desired outcome is that students are highly satisfied with their choices and successfully attain their educational and career goals.

Career Counseling and Exploration

Career interest inventories and self-assessment exercises assist students in further clarifying and understanding how their values and interests affect their career preferences. Individual counseling appointments with the Career Specialist help students become more aware of the many options available to them and how their unique talents, background and skills might fit into a specific career options.

In addition, the Career Specialist assists students in discovering the many resources available for learning about a variety of specific job descriptions, salary information and more general job availability projections. In their search and discovery process.

Preparation for the Job Search

While students are encouraged to attend our regularly scheduled workshops on Resume Writing and Interviewing Strategies offered in both the Fall and Spring Semesters, individual resume appointments are also offered to assist in the preparation of a professional, high quality resume. Students are encouraged to create a rough draft of their resume prior to their appointment with the Career Specialist. The appointment time will then be used to revise, customize and refine the students' resume.

Also, individual appointments are available to students who would like assistance in learning and sharpening their interviewing skills to develop a more effective, results oriented job search.
