Obtaining a better job is often one of the primary reasons students attend college. The Career Planning and Placement office at Cape Cod Community College offers a variety of services and resources to assist our students reach their career goals, including: Information Packets Packets covering a variety of career related topics are available around campus or as downloadable PDF files from the links below. Full-time Employment Listings Local, regional, and national employers target Cape Cod Community College students for available jobs. Students are encouraged to browse through the organized collection of current, full-time job postings at the Career Planning and Placement Office. Part-time and Summer Employment Listings The Student Employment Office works in conjunction with the Career Planning and Placement Office to post current part-time and summer job opportunities. Student Employment job boards are located in the cafeteria and on the first floor of the South Building. Career Counseling Students may schedule an individual appointment with the Coordinator of Career Planning and Placement to further discuss their career search, have a resume/cover letter critique, conduct a mock interview, or create a career plan. Alumni, former students and community members may utilize the following career planning resources. Career Library and Online Information A collection of books, magazines, and other materials are available to assist students with their career search. Internet access is also available. Log on to visit recommended web sites, contact professional organizations, view online employment listings, or post your resume. A continuously updated directory of helpful career related web sites is available to make your surf sessions more productive. The responsibility for a background screening of prospective employees and employers rests with the respective companies and students, as does the decision to extend or accept employment offers. Both the Student Employment Office and Career Planning and Placement shall not accept responsibility or liability for the future actions of either the employer or the employee. The offices therefore, encourage all parties involved to utilize discretion and sound judgment prior to entering into an employment agreement. |
