Bridge to College Program
Barnstable High School, Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, and Cape Cod Community College are partnering to offer a Bridge to College Program which will enroll up to 20 students from each high school in college level courses as dual enrolled students. Participants must be juniors or seniors interested in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) opportunities.
The coursework will focus on Renewable Energy and will lead to the completion of 6 college credits free of charge to the students. A third free course will be offered to interested participants. The program will include hands-on laboratories, brief internships, mentoring with college faculty, and business partners. Field Trips to renewable energy sites will occur throughout the program. Business partners include Turning Mill Energy, Munro Distributing, and Aeronautica Windpower.
Participants must attend classes after school two days per week at their high school and have one (1) Saturday per month at Cape Cod Community College. Support services will be available to participants including on-site tutoring, career exploration, assistance with the college financial aid applications, and job search activities.
