Lore Loftfield DeBower has taught French and Humanities at Cape Cod Community College for 35 years. She earned a BA in French and Comparative Literature at the University of New Mexico, an MA in French Literature at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a Ph.D. in Medieval French Women's Studies at the Five College Cooperative (University of Massachusetts at Amherst, Amherst College, Smith College, Mount Holyoke College, and Hampshire College). She served the Department of Language and Literature as chair for many years before accepting the position of Interim Dean of Arts and Sciences.
Lore is a church musician, organist, choir director, and regular performer in baroque and renaissance ensembles. She directs the Falmouth based Solstice Singers. She is a volunteer leader in the Academy for Lifelong Learning and hosts the Tuesday afternoon Foreign Film Series at Cape Cod Community College.
Lore is committed to working for peace and justice in our world.
