Cape Cod Literacy Council
The Cape Cod Literacy Council trains volunteers to help adults achieve their potential in areas such as reading and English language skills, HEC (High School Equivalency Credential) test preparation and workplace proficiency. Once trained, the volunteer tutor selects a program; teaching skills on a one-to-one basis within our community, in one of our reading programs or as an assistant in the ACCCESS HEC, ABE or ESOL classes.
Since the Literacy Council was founded in 1987, over 1,300 volunteers have been trained to improve English language skills for adults on Cape Cod. From Bourne to Provincetown, literacy volunteers are available to help.
