Cape Cod Literacy Council

The Cape Cod Literacy Council trains volunteers to teach adults to read. Once trained, the volunteer tutors are given a choice of teaching reading skills on a one-to-one basis, in one of our reading programs or as an assistant in the ACCCESS GED or ESOL classes.

Since the literacy Council was founded in 1987, 600 volunteers have been trained to teach reading and English languge skills to adults on Cape Cod. The tutor training sessions are held in local libraries, church halls, public schools and community centers. From Bourne to Provincetown, literacy volunteers are available to teach adults to read.
