Faculty-Led Short-Term Study Tours

Early Summer • 2009

International Business: A European Experience

This one-week study tour of Paris and its environs is designed for students interested in international business and European culture. Students have direct contact with French college students studying business and economics as well as visits to a variety of businesses. Emphasis is placed on conducting business overseas, currency issues, cultural issues, comparative marketing techniques, and basic international law. Prerequisite: Any 3 credit CCCC business/economics course or permission of instructor.

Paris 101

This study tour is offered in conjunction with International Business: A European Experience, but is intended for students, faculty, or community members who wish to travel to Paris and experience the pleasures of France. Day trips may include visits to Versailles, Fontainbleau, and Chartres.

Drawing & Writing Scotland

This course offers a unique experience for students interested in improving their drawing and writing skills and exploring Scotland’s many places of stunning historical and natural beauty. Students will appreciate the close relationship between drawing and writing through sharing their visual and literary expression. Ways of seeing through drawing and writing will be examined and the use of language both visual and literal will be applied and understood through exploring Scotland, the land, culture, and people.

French Language & Culture

This two-week, French immersion study tour to Montpellier, France benefits students at all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Participants stay in a private room with a French host family, share breakfast and dinner with them, take morning French classes at the Institut Linguistique Adenet, attend cultural events, and participate in regional field trips.

Spanish Language & Culture

This two-week, Spanish immersion study tour to Cuernavaca, Mexico benefits students at all levels: beginner, intermediate, and advanced. Participants stay in a private room with a Spanish host family, share breakfast and dinner with them, take morning Spanish classes at universidad Internacional. Optional afternoon and weekend excursions may include Taxco, Tepoztlan, Mexico City, and Teotihuacan.

SEMESTER ABROAD

Cape Cod Community College, a member of the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS), offers CCCC students the opportunity to earn credit while spending a semester, summer, or intersession abroad. All CCIS programs are fully accredited and open to both full and part-time students.
