Foundation of Education

This course examines the philosphical, sociocultural, historical, political, and developmental foundations of elementary education in the United States, as well as current issues and future trends. A 40-hour field-based experience in an elementary classroom (grade1-6) is required. This course meets state Elementary Education Transfer Compact requirements. Students enrolling in this course must undergo a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check. (2 class hours / 40 field hours) Prerequisite: ENL010 and ENL050 or satisfactory basic skills assessment score / 3 credits. Offered: Fall
